A huge thank you to the Middletown Police Department in Connecticut for hosting two classes back to back: Patrol Rifle Instructor and Pistol Mounted Optics Instructor classes. Multiple lessons were learned as we covered everything from the basics of zeroing procedures and finding your point of aim to how fast you can run your gun and keep control. The optics class also showed attendees not only how to convert the officers in their respective departments over to a red dot from irons, but to push their limits of speed and accuracy.
Our approach to instructor classes is simple: explain and demonstrate the foundations of shooting, show how to build shooters in an easy-to-follow program, and push our students to their limit in shooting. When we challenge our students, they start to notice where they struggle in the techniques they use. This allows them to understand how they’ve improved and apply those skills to teach others effectively. If students do not get pushed to failure, then it's hard to show how effective techniques can be.
Look for another Pistol Mounted Optics Instructor and Low Light Instructor to come to Middleton in April of 2026. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date on class postings.
