Service Description

The Patrol Rifle Instructor class will bring your shooting/teaching to the next level by building your confidence, speed, efficiency in shooting and expanding your knowledge with a patrol rifle. Be prepared to have an exceptional understanding of your own rifle skills through time standards and reps. This (3) day class will go well beyond the basics of a standard patrol rifle class as we take the time to build each student up around the fundamentals of shooting and prepare them for real world encounters. Students of this class, will learn a very simple way to present rifle drills and skills to their own students. Topics Covered:​ Fundamentals of shooting a carbine Ready Positions + Time Standards Driving the carbine Positional Shooting + Time Standards Malfunctions Reloads - tactical vs. emergency Weapon transitions Target transitions Turns and pivots Low Light/No Light Use of cover Barricades / Vehicles Shooting on the Move Shooting in and around Vehicles Ballistic Review of a Vehicle ​Materials Needed: 1500 rounds of carbine (no green tip) & 200 rounds of pistol ammo AR carbine w/ sling Mag carriers for carbine | either on the belt or chest rig Pistol w/ holster At least (3) mags of carbine and (3) mags of pistol A handheld Flashlight or Weapon Mounted Light Snacks | Water Sunscreen | Hat | Weather Gear ​Prerequisite: Military, Law Enforcement or Corrections Officer (certified, former or retired) Range Location: Lexington Police Dept 4300 Airport Road Lexington, KY 40410
