Lights Out !!

This (2) day class is focused around shooting with Night Vision goggles and understanding your limitations with your equipment. This is not a "this is how night vision works class" or when to use on an OP. We will take the time to walk you through building your shooting capabilities under goggles. However, students are expected to understand how to mount, setup, turn on, and the understand the function of their equipment.

Topics Covered:

  • Fundamentals of shooting

  • Passive and Active shooting

  • Ready Positions 

  • Reloads under Night Vision 

  • Weapon malfunctions

  • Goggle malfunction

  • Transitions to Pistol

  • Transitions to White Light

  • Pivots and Turns

  • Shooting on the Move 

  • Barricades / Shooting around Vehicles (range must supply)

Materials Needed:

  • You must provide your own NOD's to include, goggles, way to attach to your head, IR laser and/or illuminator 

  • 750 rounds of carbine (no green tip) & 300 rounds of pistol ammo

  • AR or AK style carbine w/ sling

  • Weapon mounted white light

  • Mag carriers for carbine | either on the belt or chest rig 

  • Pistol w/ weapon light + holster (can have red dot or iron sights) 

  • At least (3) mags of carbine and (3) mags of pistol 

  • Snacks | Water

  • Sunscreen | Hat | Weather Gear

Prerequisite:

  • Certified | Former | Retired - LEO / MIL / Corrections Officer
