Service Description
In this two day "Instructor - Level" class each student will walk through how to navigate running a pistol mounted optic on your handgun. Students will understand the advantages and disadvantages of a red dot, how to negotiate obstacles like water/fog/mud, and build confidence in the use of your optic. If you are a Firearms Instructor looking to build an optics program for your department or new to a red dot, this course will give you the tools and resources to confidently carry or teach. Topics Covered: Use of optic or suppressor height sights Advantages and disadvantages of a red dot Zeroing procedures Overcoming obstacles Acceptable sight picture Trigger management and (3) trigger pulls One handed operations Shooting on the move Low and no light with a red dot Use of cover Materials Needed: 1200 rounds of pistol Pistol w/ red dot mounted (does not need to be zeroed) Handheld or Weapon mounted flashlight Holster and magazine pouch (3) Magazines minimum Pen and notepad Snacks and water Sunscreen | Hat | Weather Gear Prerequisite: Military, Law Enforcement or Corrections Officer (certified, former or retired) Students may stay onsite for a discounted rate of $50 per night.
